This Chapter is one of our main markets. Portugal were the first to embrace the Oil Can brand out of the UK. The barbering scene and community here is strong and there’s many unsung heroes standing behind the chair in Portuguese Barbershops and we’re lucky enough to have many of them as advocates of our products.
With the roll out of the new Grease Tin hair styling range in Portugal on the horizon we hopped on a flight to visit our official distributor partner - LVM Barber Supplier. Based just outside of Porto, their set up is to be admired. Meeting face to face to discuss future plans and get ideas brewing is the best way to go and it was great for us to put some more faces to names.
Porto is also home to Barbearia Porto, a Barbershop steeped in history. Already familiar with the guys who hone their craft here, we set out to find this gem of a shop. We were greeted with open arms and were lucky enough to enjoy an evening in Porto, the local way.
The trip wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to see João Paulino of The Barberhouse. Based down in Loulé in the Algarve, only a short drive from Faro. João’s been onboard with the brand since the beginning and although we’ve met him and his family a number of times it’s always a pleasure to meet someone in their own space. And hey, with the sun shining and a cold drink in hand, who are we to complain! The fitting ending to our trip.
